International profile

We have exchange agreements with some of the world’s leading art academies.

Malmö Art Academy has a strong international profile. Exchanges and interaction with students and academic staff from other universities and art schools around the world are an important part of the activities of the academy. Education at Malmö Art Academy also benefits from the vibrant art scene in the region with its galleries, museums and other institutions. Guest lectures by internationally active artists, critics and curators and various types of collaborative project are a natural part of life at Malmö Art Academy. Teaching is often in English.

Malmö Art Academy has exchange agreements with universities around the world. Students can conduct part of their studies abroad and return with new experiences and perspectives. Each semester, students from Malmö Art Academy go on exchange, and the academy receives exchange students from all over the world. This leads to many interesting encounters in our day-to-day activities. An exchange agreement guarantees that tuition is free of charge and entitles Swedish students to student finance. The exchange studies can be included in a degree, on the condition that they have been approved by the academy. The exchange partners are found in the Nordic and Baltic countries as well as in the rest of Europe, the USA and Asia.

The exchange with the Nordic and Baltic countries takes place within the Nordplus network and is called KUNO (Kunstuddannelser i Norden; Art Education in the Nordic Countries). The KUNO network consists of:
