Tiril Hasselknippe - Tranen

August 20th – October 9th
Opening August 19th 5-7 pm
tiril hasselknippe

Tiril Hasselknippes (NO 1984) sculptures are brutalism in synthetic form. The double bonds between the sacred and the primitive / natural and artificial / the life-giving and the downfall, are all present in Hasselknippes works. This voltage and indeterminacy has contributed to mark her as one of the major Nordic artists today.

Inspired by an American West Coast minimalism, where the synthetic and the sublime unite in perfected abstract aesthetics, the artist creates a kind of science fiction of formalism. Hasselknippes works are often based on a single word: Surf Board / Phone / Stairs and serves as a poetic continuous construction of the concepts. At Tranen the artist creates an exhibition especially for the futuristic architecture and sharp light of Tranen, entitled FIN.
