Project Course in Artistic Development
Would you like to develop your own artistic project in collaboration with teachers, artists, and curators? This course provides you with the time, resources, and a studio space to focus on your artistic practice.
This course runs autumn 2026 and will be open for late registration between 15 July and 2 August.
Overview
The course offers an intensive period of artistic immersion at the Malmö Art Academy. It is designed for artists who hold at least a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts and wish to develop their own artistic project.
During the course, you will have access to your own centrally located studio space at the school’s premises on Bergsgatan in Malmö. You will also have access to the school’s workshops, providing excellent conditions for focused and continuous work.
The course is based on each participant’s individual artistic practice and offers the opportunity to develop an existing or new artistic project. The project may, for example, be linked to an upcoming exhibition, a public commission, or another professional context, but it can also be developed independently within the framework of the course.
Teaching and learning
The course consists of studio work, individual supervision, and group seminars.
During the course, you will meet the school’s teachers and professors, as well as other invited curators and artists working internationally. The seminars provide an opportunity to discuss works, processes, and artistic issues with other participants.
The course concludes with a presentation in which participants articulate and discuss the development of their projects.
This course will strengthen your ability to develop and carry out independent artistic projects. You will also practice analyzing and presenting your work in a professional context, which is important for your future career in the arts and for further artistic studies.
