Malmö Art Academy invite you to the opening of this years BFA graduation exhibition, curated by Mette Kjærgaard Præst.
Fourteen artists show their BFA graduation work, which spans a rich variety of medias including painting, performance, ceramics, installation, photography, video, and sound. From alabaster rocks, to live action role-play, goddesses, weather and condensation, this graduation exhibition is a special opportunity to experience the work of the next generation of artists as they explore new ways to engage with our world.
The graduating artists are Therese Bülow Jørgensen, Linn Hvid, Malthe Møhr Johnsen, Rebecca Larsson, Ivan Nylander, Tjelle Esrom Raunkjær, Victor Rothman, Ruben Risholm, Erlend Rødsten, Emil Sandström, Viktor Strand, Erik Uddén, Majse Vilstrup, Amund Öhrnell.
Mette Kjærgaard Præst is an independent curator and producer working interdisciplinary within contemporary art, scientific research and community engagement. She is co-curator of the current FotoNoviembre biennale in Tenerife titled Myths of the Near Future (2019-2020). Other recent curatorial projects include: ON EDGE – Living in an Age of Anxiety at Science Gallery London, King’s College London, an exhibition opening up conversation around the causes of and responses to anxiety in contemporary society (2019-2020); PS/Y’s Hysteria – a London wide interdisciplinary arts and public engagement programme that explored health and illness in contemporary society, focusing on issues of gender, race and cultural identity (2017-2018); Muros Blandos [Soft Walls], Museo de la Solidaridad Salvador Allende, Santiago, Chile, an exhibition looking at migration, otherness, and possibilities of transformation (2017-2018). Mette Kjærgaard Præst holds an MA in Curating Contemporary Art from the Royal College of Art, 2012.
