Andreas Amble - A nod from a Hammerhead
Solid in their materiality and structure, elusive in their context and placement, jumbled in their ways; these works move along with duality (attempting to defy placement in a specific category, rather exist in plural or outside.)
Metal, wood, paper, fabric and paint. It all sounds quite familiar.
This project is more than a flirtation with craft and ornament, but retains some distance for observation and in the safety of a modernist esthetic language. Can modernism support ornamented and decorative opponents? It is not mockery. It isn’t easy, that is not the point; it is love.
