Rannveig Jónsdóttir - Flowline
You step on board this cold metal body,
which suddenly, becomes your own.
Trapped in a circulation,
full of rhythm and repetition
desperately waiting for something to break the loop,
you are in no control to do so yourself.
You try to get the body in line.
You lay down
but cannot, make out a horizontal line.
try to stand upright,
but slide straight into a slope.
The loop is broken
and you can feel time move again.
A mixed media installation inspired by a trip on board a fishing trawler for 5 days.
Special thanks to Hrafn Guðmundsson at the Icelandic Meteorological Office, HG fisheries company and the Crew aboard Páll Pálsson IS-102.
