Opening: 13 January 2026, 5pm
Place: M.1, Hohenlockstedt

This exhibition is part of the elective course Community engagement and art as ecology led by curator Ronald Kolb and Prof. Maj Hasager.

In September, nine fine art students from the Malmö Art Academy attended the Fall Assembly at M.1 in Hohenlockstedt. Through walking, listening, and spending time with people and places, their practices shifted in response to the specific social, historical, and ecological textures of this site.

The works presented in this exhibition emerge from these encounters—conversations, shared moments, and situated engagements that resist fixed narratives. Rather than representing Hohenlockstedt, the students reflect with it their own position, testing out how artistic practice can remain attentive, provisional, and relational.

Participating artists

Anton Backe, Sæunn la Cour Degnbol, Benedikte Eide, Cecilie Kappel, Johan Buch, Julia Karla, Nina Fjordbak Nielsen, Ruby Mariama Laura Andersen Ndoye and Sarah Folker Kappel.
