Malmö Art Academy 30 years

We are celebrating our 30th anniversary with a programme that highlights the school's theoretical framework and international profile. The celebrations include seminars and lectures and will conclude with a digital anniversary exhibition. Since our start in 1995, the school has challenged traditional teaching methods by focusing on the studio and the open work process, characterised by feminist pedagogy and student self-determination.

The anniversary programme includes two close-reading seminars on Hanna Arendt, a lecture by Nairy Bhagramian, honorary doctor of the Faculty of Arts, at Malmö Konsthall, and a presentation of postdoctoral researcher Rosa Barbras' research project ‘The Observer Problem.’

The digital anniversary exhibition will be on the Academy of Fine Arts' Instagram between 1 November and 1 December, offering a look back at three decades of artistic education.
