The exhibition at Gislaveds Kosnthall is Olof Nimars largest solo presentation to date. All works have been produced during the last year most of them specifically for the exhibition.

Nimars Works move between photographic and painterly processes and traditions. And the exhibition can be read as a single large scale work in the sense that all Images are connected and together from a “world”. Colour, light and texture seduce and create discomfort and ambivalence. The images are on the b order between reality and fiction, a world that is familiar to the audience but that slowly grow more strange. With a photograph of an orange in front of us most will answer the question of what it is with – it's an orange. Nimars images create a paradox; a rift appears between the portrayed and the portrait, questioning ones own gaze and knowledge.

Nimar also intervenes in the space of the gallery placing the images in the room. As a photographer becomes aware of her or his own body and point of view the visitor in Nimars exhibition is similarly activated moving through the space.
